A Plastic Welder/Plumber/Fitter job is available for contract to hire courtesy of Modis Engineering. As a qualified candidate will perform all duties required to manufacture high purity Teflon, polypropylene, and polyethylene fluid handling assemblies and sub-assembly in accordance with customer / internal drawings and specifications utilizing fusion weld methods in support of product fabrication for ultrapure fluid distribution and mixing equipment.
Plastic Welder/Plumber/Fitter Responsibilities:

Good communication with manufacturing organization, with engineering, and all team members.
Perform fusion welding of plastic pipe assemblies.
Fabricate piping and components using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, face, tack and weld parts; setup and measures assemblies.
Performs close tolerance layout to meet print specifications.
Understand proper methods for pneumatic and hydro pressure testing, tube and pipe cutting equipment, calipers, dimensional tolerances, tacking methods, isometric drawings, and BOMs.
Train junior technicians on company welding standards and support qualification process.
Work with production management & QA/QC to assure weld quality, conformity and repeatability.
Work with the project teams to develop required weld / fabrication support documentation.
Work with the manufacturing team on system construction, electrical panel construction, system interconnects, and system troubleshooting.
Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
Comply with all company safety policies and promote safety to all team members

Qualifications:

High School Degree or equivalent; post HS education and/or training preferred
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment or advanced training

Previous Teflon fusion welding or plastic fusion welding experience preferred.

Strong mechanical skills and willingness to learn. Basic machine tool knowledge a plus.
Ability to read/interpret complex blueprints, welding drawings, detailed specifications, written instructions and QC documents. Assist in development of standard operating procedures.
Experience with measuring, hand & power tools, welding, cutting, facing and measuring equipment: Calipers.
Ability to work in fast pace environment with minimal supervision.
Height Gauges, Micrometers, Gauges.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Excellent team working skills, organizational skills, service attitude with the ability to prioritize and schedule workload. Good communication and people skills. Self-starter
