The Positioning Lead Engineer is responsible for creating the positioning strategy, creating and executing a multi-generational positioning plan to deliver on the positioning strategy, and technical lead role guiding, coaching and supporting engineering teams throughout the development phase.
Success in this position involves working effectively with a global team, providing leadership in positioning strategy, multi-generational planning, positioning requirements, as well a technical and development process guidance, resulting in that result in predictability in engineering, scheduling and the quality of products developed.
Primary Duties :

Responsible for On-Machine (Construction/Mining/Paving) positioning solutions
Responsible for creating and evaluating a strategic 3-5 year view of what positioning technologies need pursued
Responsible for creating and executing against a strategic 1-3 year multi-generational positioning plan by machine type
Responsible for tactical 1 year execution / implementation positioning plan
Responsible for driving hardware requirements for the supporting technologies
Responsible for driving positioning system level requirements
Responsible for creating and executing positioning software architecture plan
Works Closely with the On Board Product Management Team to maintain positioning solution alignment
Works Closely with the On Board Machine Control System Team to maintain positioning solution alignment
Maintains alignment the Positioning Roadmaps of our Business Partners
Other duties as required and requested by management.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

At least 10 years’ experience in the full lifecycle development of real-time positioning embedded solutions
Master's or PhD degree in Control Engineering and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Guidance Navigation and Control Engineering, or related disciplines is required
Proven experience modern state estimation theory and digital processing techniques in developing real-time positioning solutions
Able to work at a strategic level, as well as the in-depth technical level as required
Effectively interact with a global team with excellent communication skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with Matlab/Simulink and Model-Based development
Rapid Prototyping Systems and auto coding
Knowledge of technologies used to solve positioning problems, including, but not limited to Inertial, Optical, Electro-Mechanical, and GNSS
Experience with the development of guidance, navigation and control solutions in off-road environments
