A Pressure Vessel Engineer position in Reidsville, NC is available through Modis. This is a direct hire, long term job opportunity with an established manufacturer in the aviation industry. The ideal Pressure Vessel Engineer candidate will possess a BSME and at least 4 years of experience working in pressure vessel design. The Pressure Vessel Engineer will focus on pressure vessel design and perform engineering duties within new product development, sustaining engineering, value engineering and production support.

Mechanical Engineer duties include but are not limited to:

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics,or computer generated reports
Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Research, design, evaluate, install, operate and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew
Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using drafting tools, computer-assisted design, drafting equipment, and software
Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems
Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification
Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs
Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects


Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer are as follows:

BSME
3-5 years of experience working in a similar capacity with a focus on Pressure Vessels
Knowledge of ASME Code for welding and application of weld symbols
Proficient with AutoCAD 2D/3D and SolidWorks
Hands on experience working in a fabrication / machine shop environment
Knowledge of material types and some fabrication processes for stainless vs. aluminum vs. carbon steel, etc.
Experience in piping design is a plus
Proven ability to simplify engineering designs while maintaining or increasing functionality
Collaborative attitude, with a passion and desire for growth both personally and in one's career
