A Project Engineer job in Lexington, NC is available with Modis Engineering. This is a Direct Hire job opportunity. Some of the Responsibilities of the Project Engineer include:

Engineering design and release of BOM’s and drawings in new equipment orders, rehabs, and parts orders or internally generated projects.
Participates in the order review process, critique and feed-back meetings.
Attends customer meetings as requested by Sales.
Prepares work plan and resources requirements to meet job schedules.
Performs engineering calculations, purchased part selection and prepares specifications.
Oversees the generation of new or revised designs and approves the release of all required bills of materials and drawings.
Evaluates and approves or rejects all requests for engineering changes or deviations.
Processes all Sales Change Orders involving engineering documents.
Issues weekly project status reports.
Establishes and requests weekly design/drafting service requirements.
Adheres to good mechanical engineering and design practices and assures conformance to applicable industrial standards and codes.
Reviews all warranty claim and field reports.
Assures completeness of job file and change/addition history.

Some of the Requirements/Qualifications of the Project Engineer include:

BSME or equivalent experience
Must have 8-12 years of experience in design engineering experience
Must have experience managing projects from start to finish from design, through manufacture and commissioning/installation
Must have previous/hands on experience and good knowledge of welding and sheet metal design, and 3D CAD design experience
Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) with respect to the engineering and design of food grade processing equipment
Material handling, heat transfer, air handling, and power transmission technologies experience – nice to have
Must be CAD capable, AutoCAD - preferable, Inventor – nice to have
Experience in the Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical capital equipment industries – nice to have
Experience managing custom machinery projects – nice to have
