The Test Manager will oversee all testing effort for a major eCommerce site aftermarket.  The project is in process and will require quick learning and integration into the team.  Accountable for overseeing all testing efforts on the test team including but not limited to: partnering with other teams to support test planning; development, execution, maintenance of test cases; training and supporting other non-professional testers (usually BA’s); recording and reporting metrics and progress. Testing will involve Databases and a web interface.
 
Duties/Responsibilities
Proactively set the expectations for all things QA in the eComm project
Creates test plans, cases, scenarios, and reports for all testing activities
Tracks defects and actively pursues defect correction
Provides updates to management on the testing effort, re-estimation, and costs
Agility to shift priorities and multi-task based on business needs
Recommends courses of action based on current situations and risks
Oversees system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
Guides testing techniques for unit testing for developers
Participate in requirement and design review sessions; evaluate requirements and design docs
Expected to learn the domain and business to support software testing (including but not limited to: GUI, backend, interface/batch, performance testing)
Follow software testing best within our Test Center of Excellence guidelines
Work with global colleagues
 
Skills
7+ years software QA experience
1+ years test management experience
Agile/Scrum experience desirable
Manual and exploratory testing experience along with defect reporting and testing metrics
Hands-on experience testing applications developed for multiple browsers (IE, Edge, Chrome)
Web and database server experienced required
SQL for back-end database validation
Knowledge of testing standards and SDLC required
Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and time management skills, proven ability to delegate tasks to smaller teams to get results
Experienced in estimation and documentation
Experience with global teams
MS Office experience required, particularly Excel skills
ISTQB Fundamentals certification or equivalent, Advanced Level Test Manager preferred
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience
