A Research and Development Engineer job in Winston Salem, NC is available through Modis Engineering. Candidates will be responsible to design, test and technically document the feasibility, construction and production process of new and/or changed software in medical products. Candidates will be working with suppliers to develop software that will be integrated into class III medical devices.

Research and Development Engineer job responsibilities include:
• Design of software for embedded systems within medical device.
• Familiarity with software development for UI.
• Familiarity with software development for PC client applications.
• Familiarity with software development for mobile/tablet applications.
• Strong working knowledge of IEC 60601 standards, including IEC 62304 for software development.
• Familiarity with QS requirements for medical (CFR 820, ISO13485, EN14971).

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS in Electrical/Computer/Systems/Software Engineering or related technical field; MS preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering work experience developing medical device software.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must have experience with embedded development.
