A Sales Engineer or Account Manager job in the Akron, OH area is available through Modis Engineering. The Account Manager will maintain accounts and assist the sales team in attaining the monthly and annual targets through active involvement with other account manager, engineers, management, and customers. The Sales Engineer or Account Manager will also assure focused and productive communication with new and existing customers, internal customers, and vendors. The role requires experience within Sales in an OEM/machine manufacturing environment, or strong knowledge within equipment such as field service, along with the interest in entering a Sales role.

This is a full-time direct role with a global leader in heavy duty custom capital equipment. The role offers an excellent salary along with fully paid benefits and career growth.

Account Manager/Sales Engineer job responsibilities include:

Resolve customer inquiries, ensure customer satisfaction, and perform various administrative activities essential to sales effectiveness
Prepare proposals, sales reports, and presentations with direction from General Manager of Sales
Maintain customer records, status of sales orders, and other functions in CRM database
Support Regional Account Managers by providing back-up support for major customers and prospects
Support Aftermarket Parts and Service Groups by sharing prospect and customer info
Join field sales calls to secure new business opportunities
Coordinate/host customer inspection visits with Engineers
Coordinate kick-off meetings for assigned sales projects
Setup and attend industry related events such as trade shows and meetings
Assist with sales projection reports, market research, and competitive analysis
Attend equipment installation, startup, and service calls as requested


2-3 years of work experience in a customer-service, sales, field service, or related role, preferably for a manufacturer of heavy duty custom capital equipment
Strong technical ability such as mechanical knowledge and reading technical specifications
Ability to travel about 50% of the time including some international
Relationship building skills and problem-solving abilities
Self-motivated and results driven with a desire to pursue a career path as a sales professional
Skills in MS Word and Excel, familiarity with PowerPoint, SharePoint, or CRM is a plus
Able to work in the mill room area of a manufacturing facility
