A Semiconductor Technician job is available in Austin, TX courtesy of Modis. To be considered for this role, you must have a strong Electro Mechanical background, including experience at the technician level. You will be following various electronic and mechanical schematics, working with oscilloscopes and multimeters, to test, troubleshoot, and repair various types of equipment. This role is in a clean room environment, and you will be required to wear the full PPE. Since this is a manufacturing environment, a pre-employment drug and background screen will be conducted.

This is a long-term contract role for up to 18 months long.
This is a second shift role.

The Semiconductor Technician job responsibilities include:

Testing, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating complex semiconductor fabrication equipment and/or sub-assemblies (including microprocessors) consisting of electronic, mechanical, vacuum, fluid flow, and/or pneumatic sub-systems.
Work with electro/mechanical schematics, diagrams, written and/or verbal descriptions, and layouts to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
Writes various test procedures.
Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
Determines methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Receives general instructions on new assignments; assignments are often self-initiated.
May work with little or no formally released documentation.


AA/AS in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; BS in EE or ME
Requires strong skills in change management, communication, customer orientation, personal effectiveness, team skills, project management and quality.
Strong problem-solving abilities
High level of electrical and/or mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Experience working with schematics and diagrams
