A Senior Electrical Engineer position in Tucson, AZ is available for direct placement courtesy of Modis. As a qualified candidate you will work closely with the R&D team to build and develop ECU(Electronic Control Unit, Including Vehicle Control Unit and other ECU) hardware as well as design wiring harness diagram for an autonomous vehicle. Relocation is available and can sponsor a Visa for the right candidate

Senior Electrical Engineer skills and Responsibilities Include:
● Benchmark and communicate with semiconductor suppliers to find solutions and select chips
● Design and execute key tests for new chip selection
● Design electronic hardware functional diagram
● Calculate electronic hardware key parameters and WCCA
● Prepare electronic hardware requirements, electronic hardware design and FMEA documents
● Design schematic module and system schematic
● PCB layout (With thermal and vibration analysis)
● Build PCB process and production requirement
● Implement verification, validation, and compliance tests
● Design wiring harness for whole autonomous system

Qualifications:

M.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Consideration will be given to exceptional B.S. candidates as well
Years of experience: 5-10 years
Experience developing commercial product to completion in Automotive and Aerospace
Demonstrated PCB design experience (schematic diagram, PCB layout, WCCA)
Deep understanding of power, cooling, and shock/vibration constraints in a vehicle environment
Experience designing single board computer systems, preferably ARM based, targeted to mobile environments
Experience completing verification, validation, and compliance testing (ISO 16750/ SAE J1455)

Preferred Qualifications:

Delivered to production an automotive or aerospace grade ECU
Delivered solutions in safety critical environments. Specifically, experience with IEC 61508 and/or ISO 26262
Experience in common electronic hardware failure mode in vehicle (Connectors, Power, MOSFET, Relays, etc.)
Familiar with EMC design and regulations (ESD/RI/CI/BCI/RE/CE)
Experience in CAE (EMC simulation, Thermal simulation)
Experience in electronic hardware test (black box, white box, grey box)
Experience in embedded software for electronic hardware testing
Experience in electronic hardware development process establishment and implementation (ISO 16949 / ASPICE / CMMI)
Demonstrated wiring harness design experience (Wiring harness diagram, power balance, connectors)
