Our client located in Alpharetta, GA is looking for a Senior Software Developer for a 12 month contract opportunity.
Job Description:
The Senior Software Developer will primarily be tasked with developing new Windows applications / enhancing existing Windows applications. They will be responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the software architecture, adherence and utilization of best practices across code, and ensure continual integration of new features and functionality to support internal and external client needs. Experience working with cross-functional teams (Quality Assurance, Development, Stakeholders, etc.)
Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and/or enhance a suite of custom windows application as the needs of the internal business and our clients expand and evolve.
  • Identify potential software architecture capability gaps, architectural risks, assumptions, and approaches, outline interdependencies, determine optimization opportunities, and ensure scalability and flexibility.
  • Create documented system architectures and assists in detail designs, class diagrams, use cases and coding specifications. Creates overview system documentation for developed applications.
  • Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit exceptional relationship management skills (both written and verbal)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 8+ years of experience with Windows Applications, .NET / C# development, and SQL.
  • Experience with object oriented design and development
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, and an ability to understand and adapt to new concepts and technologies quickly
  • Ability to design and (re)evaluate architecture of an application and its functionality, as well as integrate new development into existing architecture
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle using Agile or iterative / waterfall development and experience participating in each phase of the lifecycle.
  • Should be an evangelist for design best practices, technical documentation, and creation of workflows/diagrams to be used as reference.
  • Experience designing and implementing integration points for 3rd party systems and data points into custom internal applications
  • Proven track record of multi-tasking business development, people management skills, and desire for mentoring and nurturing in-house developers
  • Ability to evaluate overall architecture of an application, looking for structural quality, best practices, code quality, re-usability and scalability, and – where applicable – use of open standards
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment with changing business rules and objectives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including providing multiple solutions to singular issues and pros/cons for each approach.
  • Experience with DevExpress custom controls (or similar), and AS/400 systems is a plus

Technology Background:

  • C# (.NET 4.5 and above)
  • Windows Forms (WinForms) and Windows (web) application development
  • Visual Studio 2017, MS SQL 2014
  • TFS 2017 for Agile software development practices and code management
  • Strong proficiency with SQL query creation and optimization, indexes, programmability, and table relationships for complex data structures
  • Web service development and utilization (WCF, WebAPI preferred)
