A Toxicology and Biocompatibility Specialist job in Plymouth, MN is available courtesy of Modis Engineering and Technology. You will actively lead strategic biological safety and risk assessment activities. You will also be responsible for ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and quality through working with manufacturing facilities, test labs, and regulatory agencies from multiple countries across the world

Toxicology and Biocompatibility Specialist job responsibilities include:
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on preclinical medical device biological safety evaluations in the areas of biocompatibility, toxicology and risk assessments • Insert job responsibility
• Possess in-depth knowledge of Biological Safety regulations (ISO 10993, ISO 18562 and national requirements for Japan, European Union, USA) to support regulatory submissions
• Design, coordinate, and author biological safety evaluation programs for medical devices that include: hazard identification, literature reviews, use of new and existing biocompatibility data, evaluation of extractable and leachable, and toxicological risk assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or similar with at least 5 years’ experience in the safety assessment / biocompatibility of medical devices; or MS/PhD with 2+ years’ experience
• Preferred minimum of five years of experience working in biological safety, analytical chemistry, toxicology, or biocompatibility testing of Medical Devices
.• In depth knowledge of hazard identification / biocompatibility testing and risk assessment principles.
• Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485, Medical Device Directive requirements.
