A Service Provider Customer Support Engineer job in Richardson, TX is available through Modis. As the Service Provider Customer Support Engineer, you will be providing tier 2 support via phone, email, and chat. You will be supporting various customers and products, including ASR9k, CRS-1, CRS-3, 7600, Catalyst 6500, GSR/C12k, UBR10k switches and routers. You need to have in-depth knowledge of ASR9k to be considered for this role. Excellent verbal and written communication is essential as well.

This is a long term contract on W2
No C2C or Third Party candidates will be considered for this role.

Service Provider Customer Support Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Providing Tier 2 support via phone and email and being able to independently debug complex product problems.
• Perform break-fix Service Request case handling for Cisco's largest SP customers involving Routing, IOS-XR and Switching technologies
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Acting as a technical expert on routing and switching, specifically with ASR9k


• BS in Computer Science, IT, or related field with Five plus years of related experience
• CCIE is required for this role
• Deep knowledge of telecommunication systems and network environments.
• In-depth Knowledge of Routing Protocols BGP, MPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN, MVPN and OSPF.
• Strong working knowledge and experience supporting CRS, ASR9k, 7600, and 6500.
• Experience working in at least TWO of the following SP-focused technologies: Routing Protocols, IPv4 and IPv6, MPLS, Quality of Service, L2VPN
• Excellent verbal and written communication is essential
