Looking for an enthusiastic SharePoint SME to join a top employer in the Chattanooga, TN area. This position will be about 75% developing and 25% administration and be responsible for managing all aspects of the SharePoint environment, including design, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring and security of the portal. This position plays an essential part in the advancement of approaches for usage of SharePoint. Involved in building and configuring SharePoint websites using web UI or SharePoint Designer and developing applications around the core concepts of business process management, business intelligence or enterprise content management. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the SharePoint Portal Server infrastructure, user access and application deployment.
  • Participate in planning and execution of tasks related to the evaluation of new SharePoint based initiatives.
  • Develop, configure and maintain document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections.
  • Perform typical system administrative activities such as site creation, user training, backup, restore and issue resolution.
  • Provide Technical support of InfoPath forms and Workflow.
  • Work with IT Project Managers and Business Analysts to design and develop solutions to address business needs and opportunities, and propose changes that would make the SharePoint environment a more effective solution.
  • Examine requirements documents and create technical design documents, unit test, system test and implementation plans for small to complex projects.
  • Maintain and administer Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis.
  • Perform as the SharePoint Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Provide technical guidance to the team in the technologies related to the development and support of an Enterprise SharePoint environment.

  • Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices and procedures


  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience


  • 3-5 years’ experience working with SharePoint Platform


  • Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based development environment
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft SharePoint Architecture.
  • Development experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, InfoPath, Workflow, and SharePoint Designer
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methods
  • Analytical thinking
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the RPM project methodology toolset.
  • Ability to identify and resolve systems problems and work to deliver results in assigned timeframes
