The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of testing within a distributed software system as well as an end-to-end understanding of common QA tools and practices. We expect the ideal candidate to scope, design, implement, and maintain tests for new projects, and to work both independently as well as in collaboration with the development staff in an agile environment.

Primary Responsibilities
• Use Java and/or Groovy to develop, enhance, and maintain automation tests and framework libraries to verify the functionality and reliability of our software.

• Conduct regular code reviews to ensure that object-oriented design best-practices are followed at all times. Automation code should be easy to extend and support.
• Work closely with the QA and development teams to oversee automated component creation and integration tests using Java and Groovy.
• Work closely with the Product, QA, and Development teams during all phases of the software development lifecycle.

• Take pride and ownership over the quality of the product being shipped.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following characteristics:

• You like Agile. You like automation. Well-oiled processes make you smile.
• You like Clouds and everything-aaS.
• You love open source initiatives and are willing to contribute back to the community.
• You want mobile to be a first-class citizen in the software world, with capabilities equal to (or better than) web apps.
• you are driven by the thought of seeing your creation in the hands of millions of customers.
• You like the challenge of simplifying complex systems and processes.
• You always consider the big picture, even when acting locally.
• You are a pleasure to work with and value a great company culture.

Desired Skills and Experience
• At least 2-4 years’ experience developing and/or testing database-driven web apps or other enterprise software.
• Solid Java or Groovy programming experience especially in conjunction with open source technologies such as Selenium WebDriver.
• Hands-on experience using modern version control systems like Git and Subversion.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools like Jenkins and Rundeck.
• Demonstrable skills in writing JUnit or TestNG tests.
• Familiarity with Linux or UNIX operating systems is a plus.
• Understanding of Agile Development (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, etc).
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Experience providing mentorship to developers and non-developers.
