The role supports the analytical team by creating, updating, formatting, and optimizing the SQL databases that contain the data used by the team to support contract negotiations and litigation activities.   

  • Update hospital claims databases monthly by adding additional claims from previous month and update any claims data that has changed.
  • Update physician claims databases as needed by adding additional claims from previous month and update any claims data that has changed.
  • Evaluate stored procedures for claims databases to optimize performance.
  • Work with analytical team on data aspects to add to available databases to enhance contract negotiations and litigation activities.
  • Ad hoc projects involved with SQL databases.

Required Skills:

  • Strong database programming skills
  • SQL Server, SSIS, ETL tools
  • SQL Server experience required.
  • Experience with writing t-SQL scripts, views, tables, stored procedures, joins, performance optimization, and loading data into SQL server from external sources and databases.
  • Experience with EPIC (Clarity) data preferred.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare reimbursement terms preferred (e.g. DRG, CPT, ICD-10).
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
