Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates and delivers on strategic software delivery plans that align with group and corporate goals.
Establishes a strong partnership with Product Management and Strategy Groups, and is instrumental in helping create a strong vision for software products.
Works tirelessly to understand customer needs, and design software products that allow customers to perform their mission critical job better and with greater confidence.
Demonstrates a good sense for UX and design and works with the UX/UI team to develop products that not only “work” but are also a delight to our customers.
Works with other Software Directors and peers within the organization on the integration of entire company product suites into a cohesive platform centered on creating superior customer experiences.
Responsible for the full software development cycle activities for a group of products including understanding of requirements, solution design, architecture, development, testing, maintenance.
Works with System Test team to develop plans and test the product end-to-end within the context of real world and fully integrated scenarios.
Demonstrates strong understanding of technology, and continuously stays appraised of its latest advancements to guide the organization in the appropriate use of technology to resolve complex business requirements.
Demonstrates good understanding of the entire Software Release Management Cycle, and works with release management to align on release milestones and deliverables.
Understands the need for effective communication mechanisms at all levels of the organization, and coordinates and executes the appropriate method of communication with their peers, direct reports, manager, and executives regarding the vision of the company, department, goals, and objectives.
Promotes visibility, awareness, and transparency of business goals, strategies, principles and practices throughout the teams and department.
Takes a proactive, adaptive, and strategic long-term approach to goals and problem solving with continuous refinement and improvement over time.
Collaborates, influences, and negotiates with peers and team members that cross technology and project initiative boundaries to maximize overall capacity and capability.
Collaborates with technical operations and architects on continually improving the systems architecture based on the AWS platform and services.
Provides coaching and mentorship for peers and direct reports to foster their education and growth.
Develops and contributes to multiple short-, mid-, and long-range strategic plans and projects with other members of the team.
Creates budgets, allocates resources, and determines schedule(s) to meet project deadlines and product releases with VP, Product Development and CTO.
Reviews results of the organization, compares to established objectives and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are implemented to correct unsatisfactory results.
Understands, establishes and helps to foster company working principles and practices to meet and exceed industry standard approaches.
 
 
Qualifications:
Proven track record of software delivery and execution.
Track record of leading all aspects of the software engineering and delivery for multiple products, or software based component.
Experience working closely with Product Management Groups, Strategy Groups, or other groups to understand market needs, user needs, and competitive pressures.
Experience with Agile Methodologies (SAFE, Scrum, Kanban)
Demonstrated ability to create a strong vision for software based products and components they manage.
Knowledge of advanced agile requirements modeling and tracing techniques.
Knowledge of both agile and structured software test techniques, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Acceptance Testing, User / Usability Testing, Non-Functional Testing including Performance, Scalability, Reliability, and System Integration Testing.
Superior sense of aesthetics and experience driving product UX and design working closely with the UX/UI teams.
Broad analytics skills to understand how products can fit together to increase value for our customers. A drive to make those product integrations a reality.
Deep understanding of full software development cycle activities for a group of products including understanding of requirements, solution design, architecture, development, testing, maintenance.
Strong technology background preferred. Ability to influence the organization in the use of appropriate technology to resolve complex business requirements is a must.
Strong understanding of Software Release Management Cycle and ability to align on release milestones and deliverables.

Ability to motivate, coach and mentor peers and direct reports to foster and continue their performance and growth
Self-motivated, assertive, and demonstrates a “can do” attitude, quickly acquiring and applying skills and knowledge in a timely manner.
Ability to foster communication, provide clear and concise documentation and accurate reporting.
Proven track record of solid judgment and discretion in investing and managing budgets; must be able to demonstrate adeptness at budget planning, implementation, and maintenance of their team and aspects of the department and ability to negotiate for resources, budget, and schedules.
Must have the proven ability to drive innovation both in process and in products.
Minimum 3+ years of management experience
Minimum 7+ years of engineering experience
 
 
Technical Qualifications:
Experience with the following development languages preferred:
Web, Mobile (Android, IoS), Desktop Apps, Scalable Enterprise Applications, Consumer Applications, APIs, Cloud (AWS, Azure), Java, C/C++)
