We are currently searching for a Sr. System Administrator to join an exciting opportunity at one of the BEST places to work in Austin, TX! This role gives candidates the chance to grow within a fast paced IT environment that supports global operations for a Fortune 500 company.
Candidates must have the following experience to be considered for the role:

  • 5+ years of experience with Windows Server, Symantec and Microsoft enterprise applications
  • 6+  years of production-level support and implementation services in large data center environment

Preferred experience includes:

  • Extensive hands on experience with configuring, securing, monitoring and troubleshooting client and server class OS. Practical knowledge of computer forensics methods and procedures. (Preferred: Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Linux (RHEL 6/7)
  • Monitors global Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS), Firewall, and log correlation tools for potential threats
  • Management, monitoring and administration of Microsoft Servers and applications including but not limited to:  Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 (both physical and virtual) and 2016, SCCM, SCOM
  • Knowledge and experience with supporting and maintenance of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, organizational unit (OU)  and Group Policy Group Policy object (GPO) and Knowledge and experience with virtualization concepts and practical application
  • Expert level experience in Microsoft patching and Windows OS upgrades and Symantec version upgrades
  • Understanding of IT Security and cybersecurity including Windows client/Servers, routers, servers, storage technologies, firewalls, PKI, PCI.
  • Experience with supporting, configuring and maintaining VMware
  • Knowledge supporting, configuring and deployment of Symantec System Recovery and Symantec Endpoint Protection and Antivirus and FireEye MIR security products
  • Understanding of continuous diagnostic & mitigation, software patching, cryptography & key management, diagnostic forensics, application whitelisting
  • Experience with troubleshooting security issue and escalation with the vendor support model to get the right vendor technician in order to resolve the issue.
  • Initiates escalation procedure to counteract potential threats/vulnerabilities
  • Provides incident remediation and prevention documentation.
  • Participates in broader Window support team activities including incident and service request management when not fully engaged with other duties.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven track record of resolving complex technical problems and the ability to consult with clients for future needs.
  • Mature ability to manage time including the ability to define and prioritize workload based on business needs.
  • Monitor emerging technology developments and identify innovations with potential high payoffs to the company.

Nice to have:
• MCSE Certification preferred
