Job Title: Controls Engineer II
**non-exempt**
Harrodsburg, KY
1 year contract

Scope of Position:
Rebuild, continuous improvement and cost reduction projects as well as first generation projects for the Harrodsburg Plant. Projects will involve software and/or electrical power solutions.

* Production Support
* Rebuild Support
* Project Support
* Support Areas - BOD (Bottom of the Draw), Mixing, and Measurements

Day to Day Responsibilities:
* Provide electrical & controls support for the production processes
* The position involves working with Process and Controls Engineering in the application of electrical and controls concepts to identify, design and implement continuous improvement/cost reduction projects.
* Daily production support involving troubleshooting, problem solving and working with the equipment maintenance organization will be required.
* Work with project team to solve difficult automation problems, resolve project related issues, and develop fundamental understanding of technical / process requirements critical to system success
* Design, and / or direct resources, to develop fully integrated motion control systems, robot cells, and safety systems
* Interface with external system integrators and machine builders to successfully deliver fully integrated process equipment systems.


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
* 8 AM– 5 PM / 24 hour production support
* Weekend team (periodic) & project team production coverage


Qualifications

Required Education: BSEE, BSEET
Required Years and Area of Experience: 3-5 Years of Experience




Required Skills:
* PLC/HMI/Motion Programming Interest / knowledge
* Low Voltage Power systems (600V and below) Interest / knowledge
* Ability to troubleshoot difficult process problems and determine root cause through process experimentation and data analysis.
* This is a functional position that requires strong technical curiosity, leadership skills (specs, scopes, budget, timeline, etc), and the ability/desire to learn as well as train others.
* Ability to plan upfront, communicate issues, and execute solutions quickly and efficiently.
* Works well with other disciplines (process, mechanical engineering) and providing/receiving direction
* Strong Written and Verbal Skills
* Ability to work in a team based environment and participate on a highly diverse team
* Strong team player who takes personal ownership for their areas of responsibility


Desired Skills:
* Rockwell and Mitsubishi programming knowledge/experience
* Controls/Electrical Experience in Manufacturing
* Broad skill set (first principal design to implementation/installation)
* Working knowledge of 480V and below 3 phase power systems
* AutoCAD
* Knowledgeable of electrical design and machine standards (NFPA, NEC, ANSI RIA R15.06, etc.)
* Familiarity with programming in ladder logic or equivalent.
