A Storage Engineer job in Reston, Virginia is available through Modis. Ideal candidate must be a SAN Administrator and have a minimum of five years of experience managing either EMC or HDS storage arrays. This person will work with customers to gather storage requirements. This is a one year long contract.

Storage Engineer job responsibilities include:

Work with customers (application developers, production support analysts) to gather storage requirements
Plan work to provision storage to new servers or add additional capacity
Work with Systems and Database administrators to ensure storage is integrated properly into the systems.
Respond to incidents including Storage performance issues and failures in the storage infrastructure
Participate in project work streams to design and build new IT solutions.


SAN administrator with a minimum of 5 years experience managing either EMC or HDS storage arrays. Experience with one or more of the following models are desired:
EMC Symmetrix DMX-4, VMAX, VMAX-3
Knowledge of Storage tools from EMC or HDS, such as:
Experience with zoning, configuration and management of Brocade SAN switches, i.e., DCX

Preferred Experience:

Minimum of 5 years System Administration experience encompassing Windows, Solaris, AIX, or Linux.
Knowledge of the Microsoft, Solaris, AIX, and Linux platforms as it relates to mounting and managing LUN's and HBA configuration.
Familiarity with multi-pathing and volume management
