Modis Burbank is looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator for a great client in Sylmar.  The Systems Administrator will be responsible and accountable for the smooth running and expansion of the computer systems including the implementation of a comprehensive inventory management system, DSD, Office utility, EDI and ERP systems.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Responsible for ensuring the organization's computer systems are well maintained and operate reliably.
• Work in conjunction with management and operational teams to implement and execute a comprehensive inventory management system using hand held devices (scanners)
• Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues. Responsible for developing and maintaining relevant procedures and systems standards. ensuring that hardware and systems work as expected and maintaining archives as needed
• Manage an up to date file maintenance for customers, inventory items files, price files, vendors files etc.
• Perform regular systems and security monitoring, handling backup procedures and set up, maintain end user accounts as required. Monitor the systems daily and respond immediately to security or usability issues
• Participate in systems migration to ERP systems. Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality.
• Handle patches and upgrades to ensure that systems are maximally efficient and effective.
• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
• Administer infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software, and other processes.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and test computer related equipment
• Coordinate workflow effectively
• Responsible for all processes related to the complete IT composition which engage computers, peripheral devices, inventory hand held scanners, telephony, internal servers, intranet/internet and all records centers,
• Develop innovative network and systems troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime.
• Responsible for regular systems backup and creating and administering disaster plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis. Audit systems, preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Ensures that the IT image is coordinated with the business edict and is the prime point of contact in securing the technology standards of the company while providing its technical requirements.
• Perform any other functions as are required and assigned by management.
 
Educational and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’ Degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s degree a plus)
• 5+ years’ experience in information technology within the food distribution or manufacturing or related industry.
• Strong knowledge and experience in inventory management systems (Hand Held scanners, tablets) QB, ERP, EDI, DSD and Office utility.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate instruction and troubleshooting processes for internal or external customers
• Comprehensive understanding of systems architecture and client/server technology
• Strong problem solving and data analytical skills.
• Critical thinking and process analysis ability           
• Positive attitude and ability to relate well with people. Flexible, energized and self -motivated, ability to take initiatives and also take directions.
