Job Description:

  • Seeking a motivated and experienced mid-level Application System Administrator with system administration experience associated with IT infrastructure (system software and hardware) to contribute towards the success of our technology initiatives.

 
Responsibilities:

  • As an Application Administrator you will act as the liaison between subject matter experts (vendors, database, middleware, firewall, network, etc.), work with application developers, ETM testing teams, and internal infrastructure team members to troubleshoot application system problems, as well as occasionally provide on-call and after-hours support.

 
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years equivalent work experience
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience with Databases and SQL
  • Experience with WebSphere Application Server or equivalent
  • Understanding of system software and hardware infrastructure concepts
  • Experience working with Java client/server applications, web based applications
  • Experience using Apache ANT

 
Optional Skills:

  • Rational Team Concert or other source control
  • Maven
  • Scripting languages
  • Java

 
Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Act as the technology representative/advocate for the application's business owners
  • Exposure to workload automation and/or Enterprise Job Scheduling (EJS) tools such as Autosys
  • Create and maintain support documentation
  • Comfortable reviewing logs for errors and issues
  • Experience managing multiple environments and the promotion of changes through Test, Dev, QA, and Production Systems
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of a range of computer and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies (firewall ports, networking, database etc)
  • Maintain operation, monitoring, and integrity of production, test, and development systems to meet established standards.
  • Participate in and contribute to large scale projects, including but not limited to planning, coordination, and implementation
