The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, backups, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, and phones.
• Deploy software, security updates and patches.
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure security and availability.
• Evaluate and modify system's performance.
• Identify network and system requirements.
• Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
• Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
• Maintain servers such as file server, Exchange and Active Directory.
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on tasks.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Liaise between vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

Education, Certification and/or Training Qualifications:
• B.S. or B.A. in information systems, or equivalent experience or Microsoft Certifications.
• Superior organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with aptitude and drive for learning new software and hardware.
• Knowledgeable of Windows clients, MSOffice; MS Window Servers; Active Directory Services; DHCP; DNS; VMWare and Hyper-V and RDS.
• Excellent analytical and customer service skills.
• Experience with monitoring systems.
• Experience with automation software.
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, PowerShell, Python) and networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
