Our client is looking for a talented Systems Engineer Manager to add to their IT leadership team. The company has recently doubled in size and growth plans continue. This person will help manage, maintain and architect the infrastructure for their enterprise systems that support their customers and internal stakeholders. Individual would be responsible for Windows, Linux, VMWare, Citrix, Cloud Azure services, Dell EMC Compellent/Equallogics Storage and O365 environments. The IT team is tasked with ensuring that their internal and external customers have reliable and stable infrastructure. They leverage Dell, Symantec, Veritas, Cisco, Mitel, Manage Engine, Ivanti, Meraki, F5, and Infor technologies. The IT team strives to improve the company and this is an opportunity to lead a dedicated group that seeks to transform the MRO industry. Their vision is to lead with innovation and automation. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 


  • Planning, organizing, and managing the overall day to day activities of high-level System Engineers and Software Developers focused on Enterprise Monitoring solutions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate technical problem-solving skills, strong leadership, and ability to motivate and lead your team through the good times and the bad.
  • Plan and track your business performance, and prioritize operational expense and licensing costs to ensure financial efficiency
  • Research and identify system areas that need to improve customer experience in a proactive manner; this includes immediate solutions, and long-term strategic paths, that can be deployed off-the-shelf or create new solutions via our Development Team.
  • Work closely with other groups throughout the company, including being a technical resource for internal groups and communicating frequently with engineering, support and development teams to help them improve the operational effectiveness of the systems you manage.
  • Work closely with our business development group to support our branch opening efforts and expanding initiatives. Up to 5 distributions a year across the country.

  • Analyze operational processes and escalation procedures to identify opportunities for service delivery improvements
  • Helps set development goals for your employees and provide regular feedback to them so that they always know where they stand in your organization.
  • Continuously finds ways to improve the business through better processes, products and people. Able to assist in planning the strategic vision of the organization for the next 5 years.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Great leadership, engaging in dealing with customers, project management, positive attitude, versatile written and verbal skills. Attention to detail and the ability to master broad system interdependencies and effectively communicate how a change affects the system as a whole.
  • Understanding of common technologies:  servers, security, Active Directory, storage, networking, WAN/LAN, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, DR practices and IT change management. Skilled in leading projects, especially in deploying, migrating and maintaining live end-user systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 3+ years of management experience leading technical professionals in related areas. At managers discretion, high school diploma, or equivalent required, with 3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in technical environments.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management, leading medium to large scale projects with varying complexities.
