Tech Support Analyst, Desktop
 
L1 role.....really its a desktop function, imaging, repairing, deploying machines/devices.  All windows OS environments, and they are NOT building images.  
 
Looking for a 2-3 year person.  This group has 2 Tech's on the team, and from a personality perspective, they are more "laid" back.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
 
PC Technician, Intermediate – L1 – L2 blend
 
b. Education and/or Experience
Formal training in electronics at the Associate Degree level or equivalent is required, or three (3) years experience as a
PC Technician. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Microsoft Operating systems is
desired.
 
c. Required skills and abilities
• Technical Proficiencies: Must be A+ Certified by the Computing Technology Industry Association. Microsoft
Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification with CompTia Network+ certification, or Cisco Certified
Entry Networking Technician (CCENl) certification is preferred.
Skills and Abilities: Must be able to read and write English and communicate effectively with customers,
manufacturers, vendors, and corporate staff. Must have excellent customer service skills. Accuracy and
attention to detail are essential. Must be able to read and interpret schematic drawings, service literature and
wiring diagrams. Must have mechanical ability and knowledge of correct usage and maintenance of hand tools.
Must be familiar with electronic test equipment Must be familiar with software diagnostic tools.
• Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 60 lbs. to chest height Must be able to access
and work in confined spaces. Cannot be color blind and vision must be correctable to 20/20. Must have a
reliable means of transportation and a valid driver's license.
 
d. Major duties and responsibilities
• Installs new computer, printer and peripheral equipment as necessary.
• Inspects computer equipment, printers and peripherals. Performs testing to determine proper operation of
equipment and records the results.
• Installs and configures software packages and operating systems.
• Diagnoses and repairs computer equipment, printers and peripherals on site to subassembly level. and
troubleshoots to component level at depot facility.
• Interfaces with ISS Solutions customers and their appointed personnel to schedule work.
• Assists with departmental education programs or ISS Solutions on the job training efforts.
• Performs certain component level work on site, as required.
• Assists the IT Services Manager and Supervisors in support of the IT Services facilities.
Provides telephone and/or direct support to other ISS Solutions managers, supervisors and technicians as
necessary.
• Performs the duties necessary within his/her capabilities to support the ISS Solutions IT Services program.
• Participates in organized education and training activities to upgrade job knowledge and performance.
• Travel is a required component May be required to travel several hours to perform repairs with minimal notice.
• Upgrades and configures computer equipment as required.
• Satisfactorily completes and submits required paperwork in a timely fashion.
• Performs any and all other duties as assigned to assist in meeting corporate objectives.
• Must assume on-call repair responsibility as determined by IT Services Manager and Computer Services
Supervisor.
• Technicians may be required to work more than an eight-hour shift to satisfactorily complete a customer repair.
Responsible for maintenance and security of personal tool kits.
