Technical Agile Coach- Dojo
12+ mo contract with rights to hire

W2 Candidates only due to CTH (US Citizen, Green Card, Permanent Resident)
 
We are looking for a Technical Coach to work in our client’s Dojo (immersive training center) for Agile / DevOps and Technical Practices. They are looking full-time coaches to bring teams in face-to-face for six weeks to help them skill up in areas like teamwork and agile practices, as well as specific technical challenges like building automated tests, creating deployment pipelines, re-architecting their applications, or figuring out how to most effectively do infrastructure as code. Unlike other typical training programs, the teams bring their actual work to the Dojo with them and are able to significantly move the needle in key areas during their stay.
 
For this position, the individual would join a team of other Agile and Technical coaches and help teams work through their challenges. Key responsibilities would include:


  • Work with coaching team to charter teams coming into the Dojo: Build learning objectives, Build lesson plans, Build goals and measures, Coordinate SME involvement
  • Make sure technical "paths are paved" prior to team arrival aligned with goals
  • Coach team while in the Dojo in their technology area- pair coaching whenever possible
  • Communicate externally on team progress on Yammer
  • Work with Dojo Product Owner to coordinate schedules
  • Make "office hours" available for teams who have left the Dojo but need additional support or help
  • Assist with Agile coaching when needed (i.e. if other coaches are assisting other teams, on vacation, out sick, etc.)

 
Skills Required:

  • Working knowledge of multiple development languages and technologies
  • Ability and Eagerness to pick up new tech on the fly
  • Knowledge of at least one Object Oriented Programming language: .NET or Java preferred
  • Knowledge of at least one popular scripting language (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • CI / CD Pipeline Buildout
  • Unit Testing / Mocking Frameworks
  • Git and Popular Git Flows and/or TFVC
  • Knowledge of SAP Development
  • Knowledge of popular JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Node)
  • Coaching
  • Scrum, Kanban, and/or SAFe experience
  • TDD
  • ATDD
  • Been on an Agile team
