Exciting contract to hire Project Manager position in Tuscaloosa, AL just opened and you do not want to miss this one! The Project Manager is responsible for the successful completion of projects and is the primary contact on project issues.  The incumbent provides leadership to project activities and is involved with leading, planning, organizing, and executing various project activities to ensure on-time / on-budget, and to specifications, committed project deliverables. The incumbent has on-going interaction and communication with field and local management to ensure the highest quality of delivery and client satisfaction.
• Manages aspects of projects, coordinating and integrating project resources and the requisite logistical support for project tasks and sub-tasks.  Determines and monitors the scheduling of technical resources to ensure successful support of project engagements and consistent performance to meet all project objectives.    
• Provides leadership to project team members.  Sets the time frames to assure milestones are met as planned. Allocates assigned resources to manage client’s project completion expectations.                                                                                                         
• Initiates and facilitates status meetings with project management team members (involving the client as needed) to ensure timely and accurate exchange of information.     
• Designs, develops and maintains scope of works, integration plans, and project plans for project implementation.  Documents processes utilized for complex projects.  Facilitates project modification and completes documentation accordingly.  Researches and designs the interim milestones and defines inter-project dependencies.

• Administers a variety of tracking and reporting vehicles to capture project activities and progress and provides details to clients and project management team-members reports.                        
• Is aware of potential for increased business opportunities through new / expanded contracts.  Participates in pre-sales briefings with clients and assists in the development of post-sales project launch plans.
• Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or other complimentary field of study, or equivalent experience and / or education.
• Work Experience:  Experience in the design and management of  technical implementation projects – 2 years
• Customer interface experience in corporate environment, including direct interaction with senior level management and line-level management members – 2 years. .
• Experience in the management of human resources, including providing direction on work flow, 1 – 2 years.
• Technical Skills:  Proven ability in managing the creation and implementation of detailed client projects; superior customer relation and presentation skills.  Solid management skills and ability to manage technical resources on a project by project basis; strong attention to detail and understanding of LAN/WAN/Wireless technology, network operating systems.  Strong understanding and working knowledge of IT network operation, VoIP, and server operations.  Strong time management and planning and organization skills along with solid leadership and conflict resolution abilities.
• Management:  Experience in the management of human resources, including providing direction on work flow 1 – 2 years.
• Communication: Verbal:  Demonstrates a superior and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining project status information.  Good presentation skills.
Written: Demonstrates a clear and succinct writing style for the purpose of completing status and project documents.
• Problem Solving:  Incumbent consults manager on an occasional basis to assist in problem resolution.  Performance of duties and responsibilities require independent- thought, as problems are complex and challenging.  Incumbent ensures that scheduling of technical field staff meets the client’s project needs requiring close coordination with the project management team to balance the competing demands of technical resources.   Incumbent must have the ability to resolve, or when necessary, escalate client issues in a mission critical environment.  Incumbent must have a thorough understanding of the escalation process and the use of alternate resources.  Incumbent ensures projects remain on schedule and that the client and management are kept informed of schedule deviations. Manages the projects efficiently utilizing the project change procedure as appropriate.  Effectively manages the technical resources on the project and resolves project issues in a timely manner.
• Number of Employees Supervised:  Varies due to scope of project
• Project Management:  Incumbent provides project based employee management through project engagement.
Project Management has been established as a core professional competency providing a constant approach to project management.  Recognized as a practice, incumbents acknowledge and affirm the methodology and tools inherent within this discipline.
• Work Schedule:  This position is on call 24/7 and work hours may vary depending on the current project.
• High level of team-work.  The work requires that other positions be involved in getting the work completed.  Incumbent interacts extensively with coworkers and frequently with clients to share and gather information to effectively track project status and activities.  Incumbent interacts with vendors to learn product offering and specifications.
