A Technical Writer job is available through Modis as a remote consulting position.The Analyst, Business Systems will serve as the liaison between various Business Functional teams, Technology teams, and Support teams and will provide business systems, project, process and change management leadership.

Candidates should be able to research, prepare and edit complex technical documentation related to internal processes, systems, and user guides. Ensures these documents meet the business and customer specifications, while adhering to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style. The technical writer Interfaces with the management and subject matter experts to gather information and pertinent data for an assigned project or business initiative.

Participates in the publishing and formatting of documentation for various media and platforms. Maintains current knowledge of the relevant technical subject area as assigned. Participates as a member of the project team. Tracks project documentation through creation, approval, publication, and update lifecycle.

The Tecnical Writer job responsibilities include:

• Gathers, analyzes, and composes technical information.
• Interviews product owners and users to elicit detailed information on LTS processes and systems.
• Conducts research and ensures the use of proper technical terminology.
• Translates technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical users.
• Ensures consistency, clarity, and quality in and across all types of documentation.
• Engages in formatting, editing, and quality assurance on own work and the work of others.
• Receives text from technical staff and rewrites documentation in a clear and concise style
• Improves editorial and visual standards for documents and recommends new designs, layouts and procedures as needed.

• Confident in working with 3rd party vendor
• High pressure; high stress; fast paced
• Must be able to work well under pressure
• Must have Excellent communication skills
• Must be process driven


Experience in the following tools is a plus:
• JD Edwards, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, BuildPro, IBM Cognos, Workday, Microsoft Suite, SQL Reporting
• Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, Information Systems or related field
• Proven experience working in a technical writing position
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and other document editing software
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
• Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
• Ability to rely on limited knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals
• Experience in creating Flow, data mapping diagrams and charts.
• Experience in eliciting requirements, planning and executing tasks

• Must possess solid PC skills/Microsoft Office Products
• Effective communication skills, problem management, customer service, and the ability to interact with colleagues.
• Demonstrates solid understanding of system design including work process flows, database structures, data integrity, and consistency.
