Job Duties:
We are seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated and experienced Transmission Planning Engineer/ Project Manager. We offer full service Electrical & Controls System Engineering Consulting services in the US and abroad.  For over 27 years, we have differentiated our services from that of our competition by providing engineering solutions to achieve our clients’ business objectives.
Primary duties and expertise:
This individual will act as the project manager on projects related to electrical transmission system planning studies to determine short- and long-range transmission requirements.  This individual will be expected to provide project management support to senior engineers who will act as technical leads on the project.  Regularly self-perform engineering tasks, as needed. In addition, but not limited to, this individual will be required to:
1.      Identify, qualify and develop new clients, as well as nurture existing client relationships, within target organizations.
2.     Build effective and collaborative relationships with the key decision-makers within the target organizations.
3.     Conduct face to face meetings with prospective clients.
4.     Participate in professional organizations and informal networks to develop and obtain prospects, as well as utilize organization’s contact database to identify and research prospects.
5.     Understand the short and long-term needs and challenges of targets, as well as how organization’s services can solve their problems, improve their competitive position and move their business forward.
Possesses the following skills and/or aptitudes:
6.      Demonstrated proficiency applying a variety of transmission planning concepts, practices and procedures.
7.      Familiarity with power system analysis software products: PSSe/ MUST/PSAT/VSAT/Power world.
8.      Familiarity with Steady State, Dynamic Stability Simulation, Voltage Stability Simulation.
9.      Production modeling experience preferred.
10.  Ability to work independently, relying on experience and judgment to perform a variety of complex tasks, calculations, and procedures.
11.  Effective written and verbal skills.
12.  Effective interpersonal skills.
13.  Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
Requirements for the position:
A.     5 years of relevant experience required in transmission planning, generation, or related electric utility experience.
B.     B.S in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institute preferred.  Concentration in power engineering preferred. Candidates with relevant utility business experience will be considered.
