Modis is looking to hire an experienced Worker’s Compensation Claims Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with our global risk management client, located in Stamford, CT.
 
Our client is a leader for corporate risk management when it comes to insurance claims.  Reducing risk exposure and limiting financial impact is their #1 goal.   This Worker’s Compensation Claims Analyst will be coordinating with an end client through each stage of their worker’s compensation claims lifecycle – from start to finish.  The top responsibilities will include overseeing worker’s compensation claims to help manage risk to the client and successfully see claims through to closure.
 
Specific duties and responsibilities of this Worker’s Comp Claims Adjuster will include:


  • Monitoring worker’s compensation claims, helping to provide direction to TPAs and Managers
  • Communicating with all responsible parties through each stage of the claim process (employees, managers, insurance carriers, IMEs, internal/external counsel and medical networks, etc)
  • Receiving worker’s compensation claims and reviewing first reports of injury for any red flags or inconsistencies.
  • Determining the validity of worker’s compensation claims by investigating and gathering all necessary information surrounding the claim, such as Date of Injury (DOI), Diagnosis (Dx), Estimated Return to Work (ERTW), Independent Medical Evaluations (IME), etc.
  • Reviewing the TPA initial investigation results and providing feedback and direction to the adjusters
  • Authorizing special investigations if necessary, including surveillance.
  • Coordinating with the TPA and legal counsel teams to ensure timely processing and management of claims.
  • Reviewing and authorizing changes in case reserves, indemnity and settlement amounts
  • Developing and managing well-documented action plans with the case managers and outcomes managers to reduce overall liability.
  • Managing potential claim recoveries of all types
  • Coordinating early return-to-work efforts with the case manager and employer
  • Managing subrogation of the claims through the litigation process
  • Participating in claims audits and file reviews to ensure compliance with best practices in claims handling, TPA internal processes and Clients specific account instructions for handling.

 
Minimum requirements and experience for this Claims Adjuster job are:

  • Current experience as a Worker’s Compensation Claims Analyst, Adjuster or Case Manager
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Workers’ Compensation Claims
  • Experienced as a reserve authority (setting and managing reserves)
  • Seeing WC Claims through from initiation through settlement.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of claims administration, case management and cost containment solution as applicable to Workers' Compensation
  • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel

Hourly Pay Rates range from $25-$30 / hour on a W2 basis and include the option for benefits (Medical/Dental/Vision/Life) through Modis.
