A large government department is an SAP Functional Expert for a contract through until June 2023, to provide expert advice and content knowledge of the solution to ensure design and configuration activities are completed to meet service delivery objectives

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure and test SAP S/4HANA, including FIORI in accordance with strict information system standards and documentation requirements.
  • Transfer knowledge to support staff of SAP S/4HANA in accordance with the adopted functionality and operating procedures.
  • Document system configuration, technical specifications and procedures ensuring that they are maintained, reflect best practice for user requirements and appropriately comply with recognised Departmental and Government accounting policies.
  • Effectively engages with internal staff and external partners to implement industry standard solutions.
  • Uses extensive SAP, FICO knowledge to drive adoption of technology and process improvements that create superior solutions for the company, customers and vendors.
  • Provide expert advice and support in the completion of quality reviews of deliverables and ensure that all appropriate financial controls are in place and functioning in S/4HANA
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the processes involved in the deployment of application and infrastructure releases within Corporate Technology Services. This person will also be recognized as a subject matter expert in FICO and be influential in setting direction and process.
  • Provide expert advice on changes to the solution design to ensure the system design remains robust, fit for purpose and meets requirements
  • Work collaboratively with other management team members of the support team to ensure that each FICO system change has been fully considered for both application and infrastructure implications and the resources are available to implement changes.

Essential Qualifications/Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform the requirements of the role within a large complex and geographically dispersed ICT environment
  • Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, ethical behaviour and occupational health and safety
  • Demonstrated well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills in SAP S/4HANA in the following areas:
  • Uses extensive SAP S/4HANA, Financial Accounting and Controlling knowledge to drive adoption of technology and process improvements that create superior solutions for the company, customers and vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience in the following S/4HANA Finance areas and configuration activities of
  • Finance (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset Accounting, General Ledger)
  • Management Accounting (Profit & Cost Center Accounting, Internal Order)
  • Fund Management
  • Experience in working with both SAP end-to-end projects and BAU activities
  • Experience in integration with the following SAP modules:
  • Sales & Distribution Module
  • Operation Procurement, Inventory and Warehouse Management
  • Demonstrated high level experience in formulation, documenting and implementing functional and technical specifications, including:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated influencing skills, high level of technical and team leadership skills.
  • Good knowledge of current technical trends, including systems integration, and service-oriented architecture
  • Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and innovative problem-solving skills including the ability to independently research, analyse, develop and recommend options
  • Demonstrated high level ability to communicate, consult, negotiate and provide professional advice
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing solutions for Financial Accounting and Controlling
