One of our premium clients based in Melbourne is looking for a highly experienced and committed individual for a Java Developer role. This key position will be responsible to lead integration analysis and detailed design output in alignment with standard patterns and tools, followed by build / refactoring and deployment of the integration services.


· Contribute to project initiation phases with technical inputs where required by the project manager or architect

· Working with business and technical SMEs to capture and understand requirements

· Lead the execute phase activities on one or more projects through detailed design, build, unit test and deployment

· Provide project (SDLC) delivery guidance to Bureau technical resources where required

· Support the testing team in test planning, execution and defects fixes

· Lead transitions of integration services to the support team.

· Re-use or contribute to a library of integration patterns and standards.

· Suggest improvements to the platform, processes, tools and patterns.

· Mentor team members, other developers and business on the use of the integration platform and patterns.

Essential Experience and Skills Required:

· At least 3 years integration development experience using common open source platforms, specifically:

o Java

o Spring Boot framework

o Red Hat Fuse

o PostgreSQL

· Sound understanding and working knowledge of:

o GIT and CI/CD environments

o Integration Services such as RESTful APIs or Web Services, Managed File Transfers and message queueing

o Data transformation of different file formats including text and image

· Advanced skills in authoring technical project documentation (Design Documents, Build Documents, Release Notes, Deployment Guides)

· The candidate must state their agreement to have or obtain (at Bureau expense) a baseline security clearance.


· Software Engineering/ Computer science degree

· Experience in lead or contributing to application remediation projects using Agile and Waterfall models

· Experience and understanding of microservices architecture
