Contract Duration: 12 months
Location: Hybrid, Toronto or Waterloo
Reporting to the Senior Director, Expense Management. The role of Expense Analyst supports the Investments Expense Management Team in gaining insights on the drivers of expenses and ensuring the accuracy/completeness of expenses.
Responsibilities:- Conduct in depth analysis of expenses and related variances to support management decision making and the development of annual business plan
- Develop and improve processes to support efficient reporting and month end processes
- Prepare monthly/quarterly management reporting packages to communicate expense results
- Analysis of Investment related fees to ensure completeness, accuracy and reasonability
- Assist in build of business plan and related budgets
- Assist on projects as directed, including building out finance hub and use of forecasting tool
- Attention to detail at multiple layers in expense management framework
- Highly developed organizational skills to facilitate prioritization amongst competing priorities
- Experience with Business Unit or Business Group financial and expense management would be preferable
- Highly developed analytical skills with ability to identify key messages and trends essential
- Strong ability to be flexible and supportive of new approaches, changing priorities and timelines
- 3+ years of Insurance and/or Financial Services industry preferred
- CPA designation
- Knowledge of Hyperion, Oracle, SAP an asset
- Understanding of investments and differing asset classes would be beneficial
