Duration:  6 months

Location:  Remote/Toronto


  • Fulfill lead business analyst role on assigned projects, directing the work tasks of business analysts as required
  • Facilitate effective workshops with the project sponsor and appropriate stakeholders to identify and document business needs
  • Collaborate with IT to translate the business needs into IT business requirements, ensuring that proposed solutions will meet sponsor/stakeholder expectations
  • Work with Project Manager and Project Sponsor to establish and control project scope
  • Actively participate in the preparation of project business cases in support of business and system improvement initiatives (including feasibility and cost/benefit analysis)
  • Define and document business change management requirements and solutions (i.e. stakeholder impact assessment and current/future state gap analysis)
  • Collaborate with Training & Knowledge Management in the development of internal training and awareness collateral
  • Develop Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) strategies and approve/sign-off on BAT test plans
  • Accountable for Project implementation testing and sign-off recommendation
  • Develop and/or provide input into internal and external communications and user documentation
  • Mentor, coach and support the development of Business Analysts on assigned projects
  • Support a work environment that promotes customer service, quality, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and teamwork
  • Required Skills:

  • 7+ years as a Business Analyst 
  • Experience in a lead role
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to ensure the successful analysis and interpretation of a variety of concurrent business and technology projects 
  • Gathering and defining business needs, setting project scope, reviewing and approving detailed business requirements, identifying and managing risks, executing business acceptance testing, updating system documentation, developing communications/ training and transitioning knowledge to production support.
  • ALM for defect management
  • Offshore experience helpful
  • Insurance experience very desirable
