Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Business analysis experience in Oracle, Informatica, and Cognos integrated environments for data warehousing and business intelligence.

  • Proficient in designing and understanding data warehouse systems and concepts.

  • Expertise in creating complex SQL scripts for data analysis and profiling.

  • Design and development of BI Reports, Dashboards, and Business Intelligence solutions using Cognos 10+ and Microsoft Power BI.

  • Working knowledge of Data Dictionary and data mapping.

  • Familiarity with Business Process Design Re-engineering for applications.

  • Analyzing data in source systems to identify cleanliness issues.

  • Development of automation extraction, cleansing, and load scripts.

  • Generating research models and reports (scheduled and ad-hoc).

  • Advising on existing data sets, models, and transformations for enhanced business intelligence reporting.

  • Proficient in Oracle Databases (version 10.x or higher) and DB2 Database.

  • Strong MS Excel skills, including Power Query and Pivot Tables.

Core Skills

  • Requirements gathering for BI applications (Cognos and Power BI).

  • Systems design and development experience with related methods, techniques, and standards.

  • Designing data warehouse and related components.

  • Working knowledge of technology, data, databases, applications, and networking techniques.

  • Documentation of application designs, specifications, and drafting policies and procedures.

  • Familiarity with aggregate reporting.

  • Troubleshooting production issues and creating fixes for unplanned deployments.

  • Defect investigation, resolution, and assignment using defect/issue management tools.

  • Proven troubleshooting and analytical experience.

  • Process decomposition/mapping and business process re-engineering with complex data models using UML.

  • Use of development tools and business re-engineering software.

  • Designing and developing enterprise-wide data analysis and reporting solutions.

  • Reviewing and analyzing data from multiple sources.

  • Communication of analysis results and recommendations to senior management.

  • Effective use of BI tools and data models for visualization and monitoring.

  • Proven experience in various software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, waterfall).

  • Collaboration with both business users and IT development teams.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing business priorities and needs.

  • Exceptional organization and presentation skills.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Project Management Skills

  • Development of various deliverables in roles such as project coordinator, release management, requirements analyst, system designer, system tester, trainer, etc., throughout SDLC.
