Principal Business Analyst

£60,000 - £65,000 + bonus and extensive benefits package

The Company
My client is a global and market leading FinTech business who operate from four offices across the UK and the US. Their UK head office in based in Birmingham City Centre.
The Role
The Principal Business Analyst will directly manage a team of on-boarding focused Business Analysts. BAs collaborate with the business and clients alike to gather and document requirements to improve existing and build new systems and processes. The Principal BA is responsible for liaising between clients, business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical, and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. You will also work closely with PMO, Development and Operations teams to understand where resource needs to be allocated and to ensure the appropriate staff are deployed.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish standards for Business Analysis, including methodologies, metrics, requirement and tools, aligned to best practices in conjunction with other BA leaders.
- Take ownership of resource planning and talent acquisition for correctly sized teams to meet the growing business pipeline.
- Facilitate the on-boarding of Analysts and ensuring adequate resource and talent allocation.
- Manage team performance by setting objectives and conducting performance reviews
- Assume role of Lead BA on large, highly visible projects as required
- Monitor service requests and project progress. Manage escalated project issues.
- Liaising between the Business Analysis team and stakeholders: Meet with project teams, department colleagues, external vendors and internal clients to ensure needs are met.
- Inspire and nurture team members at all levels to continuously improve our ways of working, culture, and individual craftsmanship.
- Work effectively and collaborate cross functionally, build support and alignment across multiple business units.
- Work with the other leaders within the Business Analysis team to build a community of practice.
Skills and Experience required
- Proven track record and experience working in a Business Analysis environment.
- Demonstrable experience leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary global distributed teams.
- Experience in working with Agile teams.
- Strong technical and / or QA engineering background that includes cloud technology, platforms / APIs and user-facing applications.
- Specific knowledge of business analysis methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with business process improvement.
- Any FinTech or financial services experience is desirable but not essential
