Associate Director - M&A Data and Technology specialist

up to £100K + Bonus | London - flexible and hybrid working

UK's leading provider of tax, audit and advisory services is expanding their team and looking for an Associate Director to join their M&A Data and Technology team. This team delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights, and executing with investor-grade rigour

You will need to have a holistic understanding of data engineering principles and will have moved on to aid in the data strategy of their organisation. Having the ability to communicate difficult concepts to a varied technical audience.

The role:

  • Build deep client relationships and be seen as the 'go to' person and a trusted advisor by senior executives
  • Support the identification, pursuit, and conversion of a pipeline of business development opportunities
  • Lead the design of complex engagements and take responsibility for leading day-to-day delivery
  • Undertake scoping and fee negotiation on standard engagements
  • Proactively develop thought leadership
  • Understand risk and ensure that firm's risks management frameworks are adhered to inspire, motivate coach, and develop project team members and appraisees, and give constructive 360-degree feedback
  • Identify, design, and lead critical complex practice development initiatives

What will you need:

  • Experience working in a leading strategy house, big 4 firm, public sector organisation or strategy / development team in industry
  • Strong understanding of the value drivers within M&A transactions and the associated challenges relating to separation/integration and transfer of data between parties
  • Track record of leading complex projects in data /technology with multi-disciplinary teams in a consulting, corporate or public sector environment
  • Experience of managing or supporting high-value business development activities with senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrable ability to build and commercialise relationships with senior executives
  • An understanding of the commercial, legal and/or regulatory considerations that may impact the separation and transfer of data
  • Experience working on M&A projects within highly regulated environments.
  • Experience in Life Sciences or Financial Services sectors is preferable

Technical skills:

  • Sales and business development skills
  • Evidence of strong problem-solving & analytical capabilities
  • Ability to evaluate complex challenges and deliver insightful recommendations that can be practically executed
  • Ability to review and assess large volumes of technical data and distil the key strategic insights

Technical expertise required in at least one of the following Data areas:

  • Subject matter expertise in data governance, intellectual property, or data migration/transformation
  • Planning and execution of IT integrations and separations across technology, infrastructure, applications
  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning
  • Forensic tools for data exploration/examination
  • Data visualization (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI or other) / Unstructured data (analysis & migration) / Data migration (including ETL)
