Product Owner

Modis are working in partnership with one of the UK's most renowned Financial Services sector employers to recruit a Product Owner with excellent experience and knowledge of software development.

The Role

As a Product Owner you will be joining a company going through an exciting period of digital and cloud transformation. You will be joining a development environment which is a mixture of Agile and Waterfall.

The Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders and Business Analysts to define and track release-specific success metrics; Analysing figures, pulling out the insights and making decisions based on data.
  • Work with the Development Team to deliver against a shared Product Vision and Product Roadmap by actively driving the scrum ceremonies.
  • Work with the Scrum Master to ensure the Development Team delivers effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with Business Analysts and Technical Architects to help you create the Product Backlog.
  • Take a comprehensive approach to refine and prioritise the Product Backlog considering customer value and other engineering criteria (e.g. technical debt, non-functional requirements)
  • Ensure specifications artifacts (e.g. Wireframes, user journey, high-level solution design, Product Backlog) are in place for smoothly triggering the Sprint of new business initiatives
  • Plan how to deliver the Product Backlog together with the Development Team.
  • Actively participate in the Engineering Product Owner community to share best practice and establish a best-in-class way of working.
  • Ensure the Engineering SDLC is followed.

The Requirements

  • Experience of Cloud based technologies such as Azure/AWS or GCP a
  • Experience of using Agile techniques such as ATDD, BSS and TDD as well as knowledge of DevOps principals such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment.
  • In-depth understanding of the end-to-end changes of the product development life-cycle
  • Agile planning techniques -balance, scope, resources, release planning
  • Excellent understanding of APIs, Microservices and SOA
  • Experience of integrating products with 3rd party services
  • A background in translating large pieces of functionality product roadmap items/features into actionable and prioritised user stories
