The company

My client, a well-recognised financial services organisation who have regularly won awards for being one of the UK's best places to work are looking for a passionate Scrum Master to join their Applications Team.

The role

As Scrum Master, you will be responsible for managing the full sprint process following the Agile software delivery methodology. You will be required to plan and agree sprint deliverables, working closely with the business and projects and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. An important skill will be to support, motivate and energise the Scrum team to provide a collaborative working environment for efficient, innovative IT delivery.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Team as they continue the journey to implement Agile and embed a DevOps operating model.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the full Sprint process described within the Agile Methodology through the Scrum team, delivering regular deployable production candidates.
  • Lead and support the Scrum team using appropriate IT expertise in order to verify the IT deliverables are in line with IT quality standards, best practice within the control framework and the general Agile framework.
  • Lead all of the respective Sprint meetings aligned to the Agile methodology including but not limited to Estimations, Planning, daily Scrums and retrospectives.
  • Support resources effectively through the Sprint process to ensure that resources have everything needed to deliver against the Sprint plan.
  • Lead and motivate the scrum team, in conjunction with the Team Leader, to create an environment of continuous improvement and evaluate performance to ensure the team know what is expected of them and are able to maximise their contribution to business objectives.
  • Engage with the Scrum Master community to share reflection and ensure best practise is followed throughout IT delivery.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and outsourced service providers.

Experience required

  • Ideally have a formal Scrum Master accreditation
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience of using Agile methodology and Scrum theory.
  • Will thrive off providing excellent customer service and enjoy using your interpersonal skills to both lead and work as part of a team.
  • Will have an understanding of iterative and incremental development
  • Possess knowledge of software development processes
  • Have clear and concise communication skills
  • Have an understanding and application of the servant-leader role.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies is desirable
