My leading Fintech client are at the beginning of a HUGE transformational programme of work to deliver a brand new, state-of-the-art Platform which will transform their Technology estate and ultimately how the business operates. We need a Java expert to take the reigns on this exciting, industry-changing transformational journey…

And this is where you come in.

Who are they? My prestigious client are renown for providing world-changing data insights for their customers - Their demand for life changing, real-time Data is absolutely relentless. They're now looking to shape the future of their flagship platforms and they need somebody to help them align it with the next generation, sophisticated technology.

As a Principal Developer you will essentially be accountable for the delivery of the platform and defining the overall architecture to implement the solution. These are going to be very high-level, technically complex requirements and will need to be delivered to the highest standards of software quality and improving team efficiency through innovation and automation.

Technically you will deep and meticulous knowledge of Core Java 11+. This is a full-stack role and they use AngularJS on their Front-End but we're open to any framework - as long as it's of enterprise level. You will be an advocate of Microservice Architecture and have solid experience of object-oriented programming. Naturally, you will have a solid handle on Cloud Tech - ideally AWS as a platform.

Your role will be totally hands-on but we'd like you to provide some mentoring to the wider team of 5 Engineers. So you'll be an inspirational leader - one that leads by example and knows exactly how to get the best out of your teams. You will provide support, leadership, and oversight to multiple project teams ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards - whilst having a hands-on approach to coding.

I want you to be technically inquisitive and have a good attitude. You'll have the aptitude to take to their tech stack like a duck to water and be bold enough to maybe even suggest better ways of working.. these guys will totally encourage and support your personal development and learning too.

In return you'll receive up to £125,000 base plus 20% bonus - you can largely work from home but we'd love you to be open to working 1 day a week in their state of the art office in Canary Wharf.
