Job Title: RPA/Automation Developer
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Location: Flexible working with potential for occasional client site travel to Telford or Newcastle
Note: Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance or SC Cleared
Job Specification:
This role is to configure, integrate and lead components of developing automated solutions for multiple business processes utilising the NICE automation toolset. You will be responsible that all technical components within your area of responsibility are fit for purpose and meet the agreed business and system requirements.
Utilising knowledge of RPA best practices and Object Oriented Development concepts to develop automated RPA solutions
Work alongside Business Analysts to engage customers, identify requirements and recommend an automated technical solution that meets the needs of the business.
Review, analyse and evaluate automation requirements in collaboration with Business Analysts and IT Solution Architects to ensure they align with the ways of working going forward and to produce timeline estimates for the development work
Building, configuring, and testing automated workflows in-line with architectural, development and security standards to ensure that business processes function at optimum efficiency without risk of error.
Proactively engage with customers throughout the build cycle through show and tells and hands-on demos of the automated solution.Work within an Agile Scrum Framework adhering to a 2 week sprint cycle
Build technical solutions to agreed estimates, time and quality requirements.
Track development work using tools such as Azure DevOps and JIRA, utilising analytics such as Burndown charts and Velocity diagrams to demonstrate progress on the project to other stakeholders and customers
Proactively engage with customers throughout the build cycle through show and tells and hands-on demos of the automated solution.
Respect the value of sharing knowledge in the wider dev community to promote continuous growth and allow best practices to be adopted
Producing process documentation in order to outline the E2E process developed
Working alongside QA specialists to ensure the right tests are executed and all scenarios are covered
Document and direct the handover of software into business-as-usual (BAU) operation and coordinate the resolution of live technical incidents and system problems as and when required, in accordance with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
Monitoring and maintaining automation post deployment to resolve potential issues occurring in a Live environment
Able to perform code changes to existing automation solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as required
Strong background working with automation technologies such as NICE, UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere or other automation technology
Proficiency in writing, executing and unit testing programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CCS, .NET
Experience of working in an Agile/ Scrum environment
Meaningful relevant and demonstrable experience of IT automation / software development
Experience in using Azure DevOps or JIRA (or similar tool) to track development work (desirable)
Formal qualification in technical area of specialism (desirable)
Good knowledge of code repositories such as GIT, (desirable)
Solid understanding of JSON data structures and API calls (desirable)
ITIL awareness (desirable)
Experience of various software development methodologies (desirable)
Knowledge of XML and structural programming concepts. (desirable)
