Commodities Accountant (Energy) - up to £80,000 + 25% Bonus - London (Hybrid 2 days in office)

A leading European Energy Group, the organisation has a continued focus on sustainable energy solutions and requires an experienced Trading Accountant to support the business due to growth.
Role
We are recruiting for a qualified accountant with a background working within the UK Energy markets. The role is responsible for IFRS reporting, you will be responsible for accounting entries for monthly financial close, statutory accounts and the budget process.
You will also be tasked with ensuring all derivative transactions are correctly identified, documented, reported and valued to ensure IFRS compliance. You will be working closely with various companies within the energy sector to ensure they are briefed on the IFRS impacts of their trading decisions. You will also be the lead of IFRS accounting standards, implementing updates to standards and policies.
You will also identify risks and work to take protective steps. The role would suit someone with strong skills in analysing large volumes of data, and ability to look at opportunities for continuous improvements.
Key skills and experience
- Post degree accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experienced working within the UK energy sector supporting trading solutions
- Experienced with data tools - Excel, VBA, Python or similar
