Do you consider yourself an all-rounder of an Engineer up for the challenge of joining a company who are rapidly improving and automating their enterprise infrastructure? Do you thrive working in a largely autonomous way, where you're given freedom to research and develop without having tight budget constraints?
You'll have responsibility for designing, delivering and supporting infrastructure for a company who have tens of millions of customers across the globe. They have built a ridiculously successful enterprise-scale, real time transactional environment over the last 20 years.
The culture is one of getting the job done without procrastinating. It's fast-paced though not at the expense of quality.
If you have a nosey personality who thrives on finding creative solutions you'll fit right into this environment.
Information sharing is key within your new team and your manager encourages you to discover and investigate for yourself - if you want lots of strategic direction and overload of documentation this isn't the role for you!
You'll be joining a growing, close-knit team who have a diverse set of skills, centred around Windows Server, Storage, Containerisation and Virtualisation (VMware).
It's likely you'll have found a niche in one of these areas, or perhaps looking to become a true expert.
The wider team also run Linux Servers - a Kubernetes build is under way - and DevOps tools like Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, Chef and Puppet.
As I mentioned automation is a focus of this team, so you'll be able to display your scripting skills in the likes of Python, bash or PowerShell.
You'll be able to articulate high level design and scope out Windows Server, Storage, Containerisation and VMware projects.
You'll have every opportunity to learn and develop your career, including moving into mentoring and leadership, or design/architectural roles.
It's a Monday - Friday normal hours Systems Administrator / Engineer role with 1 in 4 weeks on-call (infrequent callouts).
You'll take advantage of £40-50k salary depending on your level of experience + good bonus and benefits package.
The interview process moves quickly, and we can on-board you remotely immediately. Post-Covid you'll be working in Manchester city centre.
