Job Role: 3rd Line Systems Engineer - Project Focused

Location: Remote. Circa 10 on-site visits per year

Salary: Up to £55k - £65k + benefit package

About our client

An end-user client of ours is seeking an experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure Project Engineer with experience of large scale and enterprise environments to join the company and work as part of the IT team to work on infrastructure digital transformation projects.

This is a project focused role helping the business in their on-going transition (currently circa 200 on-prem servers and approx. 3000 end users) to Azure.

The selected candidate will help with project implementation and provide support across Windows/HyperV environments, delivering technical change, typically creating virtual machines, managing datastores, monitoring & adjusting performance, problem solving & resolution, installing and configuring environments and applications, group policy changes.


I am looking for an engineer who is immediately available to start and can demonstrate the following experience:

  • VMWare/HyperV
  • Windows Server 2012 up to 2022 RDS
  • Group policy
  • Backup technology
  • SQL Server
  • Network management
  • Cluster management


  • Azure
  • Power BI
  • Dynamics

The business and their data centres are headquartered in West London but we are happy to consider candidates anywhere in the UK. The successful candidate should expect circa 10 visits in a 12 month period should be expected and would be project specific visits.

This role will provide an opportunity for an IT infrastructure specialist wishing to work for a reliable company. The company offers remote work with occasional travel required to company data centres for which expenses will be paid if required. The company also offers personal growth prospects with training which includes scope for certification. There is also potential for a permanent position after the FTC expires.
