An exciting opportunity is open with our Sheffield based client. This manufacturing organisation is growing significantly with customer-based expanding across the UK and Europe. As a result, a space in the Data Services team is open.

This is a well-rounded data role with the successful candidate getting stuck into work with Business application, Data integration and infrastructure. The role will give the chance to gain experience across both on prem and cloud technology as well as working alongside varying teams across the business. Working closely with application services, service department and IT project and programme managers, communication skills will be essential to deliver a mixture of BAU and project work.

  • Works day to day with Microsoft SQL Services both On-premise and in Microsoft Azure (SQL), using SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio Data Tools.
  • Operational activities and monitoring related to the Data Warehouse
  • Build, maintain and support, underlying SSIS packages within visual studio and within the SSIS catalogue
  • Working on operational Service Requests, Incident and Problem tickets related to all IT Data services across the business.
  • Taking responsibility and ownership for IT Change Requests (CR's) introduced by the Data Engineering team, ensuring fit for purpose solutions and standards.
  • Analyse all requests for information or activity into the Data Engineering team and verify and prioritise accordingly.
  • To attend Project and Programme calls and meetings where Data services requirements are needed for implementation, aligned to key strategic business enablers.
    • Data Development activities
    • Creation of Packages
    • Creation of Data schedules using SQL Jobs
    • Application of quality measures, including monitoring for production critical data assets
