Are you a Linux expert up for the challenge of joining a company who are increasingly embracing open source technologies? Do you thrive working in a largely autonomous way, where you're given freedom to research and develop automation solutions without tight budget constraints?
This new Linux Systems Administrator post has been created by a fast-moving organisation in response to a number of open source initiatives. We need your software engineering mindset and Python skills!
In truth we require a diverse set of skills, centred around Linux, and would like you to provide expert-level advice and solutions.
A Kubernetes build is under way so you'll have chance to use your skills with Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet and the like. You'll be scripting in Python.
You'll have responsibility for designing, delivering and supporting Linux based systems across enterprise-scale platforms. You'll be able to work on other technology areas outside of Linux, like Windows Server, VMware and storage technologies, though if you want to stay focused on Linux that's fine too!
Your new role will be varied, encompassing everything from new technology implementation to automation, 3rd line Linux escalation support, scripting and problem and incident management.
You'll be actively encouraged to challenge current ways of thinking - have you seen a better way, or researched more efficient methods?
This is an enterprise-scale environment and ideally you'll have worked in a similr setting, or perhaps an ISP, but more importantly played an active role at the heart of Linux infrastructure development. You'll be able to articulate high level design and scope out projects.
You'll have every opportunity to learn and develop your career, including moving into mentoring and leadership, or Linux design/architectural roles.
You'll take advantage of £50-60k salary depending on your level of experience + good bonus and benefits package.
