We are looking for a Mechanical Design Office Engineer (20 hours per week - E3) to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. This is initially a 1 year assignment.

Specific tasks to be performed:

  • Design of electro-mechanical test instrumentation in coordination with colleagues of the Electronic Design Office.
  • Support to the implementation of the procurement plan of the Test Centre Division, by taking care of collecting and consolidating requirements, assess feasibility and initiate procurement/contractual actions.

General tasks to be performed:

  • Support to Test Centre Customer and ESTEC laboratories for the definition and verification of test setup.
  • Support to the development and maintenance of the 3D CAD models of the ESTEC Test Centre facilities.
  • Support to the ESTEC Test Centre investment, maintenance and study activities in the mechanical domain

To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background / experience is required:

  • Master degree in Mechanical Engineering combined with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on capabilities in integrating and testing measurement systems.
  • Working experience with CATIA V5 is required. Knowledge of 3D experience or Siemens NX is an asset.
  • The incumbent is expected to be able to work independently in the exploitation of his/her tasks, when not required differently.
  • Because the nature of the job, presence on site is expected for the whole duration of the Support Period.
