Remote Integration Architect

Modis IT is seeking a Remote Integration Architect for a permanent position with a growing client located in the Akron, Ohio area.  The ideal candidate will be excited to research and recommend opportunities to adopt new technologies while analyzing the impact of implementing those new technologies into the current digital and e-commerce IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive design for a secure, efficient, and adaptable future state model
  • Support digital innovation by leveraging innovative new technologies and approaches to connect our existing core application base with our new, customer facing applications
  • Use business requirements to identify, evaluate and present alternative design solutions which meet customer needs
  • Publish and communicate strategic technology standards, frameworks, principles and roadmaps to guide technology decisions
  • Ensure that new projects and migrations are in alignment with the budget, project portfolio, and IT/enterprise strategic goals.
  • Coach, mentor and collaborate with peers, solution architects and project and portfolio managers to achieve successful outcomes
  • Prioritize requirements for inclusion in the software development phase using Agile scrum methodologies
  • Create a use case diagram to clarify solution scope
  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.
  • Qualificatiosn:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10+ years of architectural experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Experience in data management strategy and cloud native technologies
  • Working knowledge of ETL and ESB tools like Informatica, MuleSoft, and Active MQ
  • Ability to conduct data analysis with PL/SQL and other querying tools
  • Work experience with platforms to include Middleware, Caching/Searching, Operational Data Store, Security & monitoring
  • Experience of driving a step change improvement in Integration on an enterprise scale
  • Implement API management using API management software (like Apigee or others) to include API proxies, mashups, rate limiting, security, analytics, monetization, and developer portals
  • Experience of setup and running a governing forum for the delivery of an API led integration approach including the versioning and maintaining of a cross domain API catalogue
  • Transformational mindset using an approach of persuasion and encouragement that embeds sustainable capabilities
  • Keen interest in technology industry trends and ability to translate into business value
  • A natural curiosity for gaining further business acumen in Retail
