Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Design and Development Engineer with a strong background in automotive systems to join our cross-functional team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in translating functional objectives into technical requirements and solutions, ensuring the consistency of requirements, standards, and practices across programs.
Pay rate: $40.00 - $45.00
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Interface with cross-functional teams to design and develop functional solutions.
Collaborate with Design and Releasing teams to ensure consistency in requirements, standards, and practices.
Technical Expertise:
Translate functional objectives into technical requirements and innovative solutions.
Create and analyze alternative design concepts.
Project Management:
Develop timelines and drive programs to meet deliverables.
Manage Tier I suppliers and coordinate software releases and/or hardware designs.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Own and update Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR), and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
Conduct cost value analysis and support benchmarking of competitive vehicles.
Innovation and Technology Advancement:
Implement innovation roadmaps and coordinate the advancement of new technologies and procedures.
Define customer interface requirements and lead design and release engineers in meeting program objectives.
Technical Documentation:
Maintain core Engineering Design Practices (EDP’s).
Create and maintain documentation outlining best practices supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Communication and Collaboration:
Interface with stakeholders at all levels, including vehicle teams, HMI, validation, and technical specialists.
Clearly communicate component status and issues using Google Suite and MS-Office applications.
Electrical and Design Engineering:
Conduct Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modeling (Catia/NX) and template set-up using Knowledge Based Engineering.
Develop and release component designs, including detailed harness BOMs.
HVBS Module Development:
Develop High Voltage Battery Systems (HVBS) concepts.
Coordinate HVBS module packaging activities with the advanced concept engineering team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; master’s degree preferred.
5 years of experience in automotive design and development.
Strong proficiency in CAD modeling (Catia/NX) and GD&T.
Proven experience in High Voltage Battery Systems (HVBS) development.
Excellent project management and communication skills.
