Position Purpose

The Continuous Improvement Leader III assists in the evaluation of current business practices; helps lead change initiatives within the organization; actively engages functional business units to standardize and improve processes as-well-as improve operational functionality. The candidate will aid in the overall execution of the Continuous Improvement strategy to deliver quantifiable and measurable results.

The Continuous Improvement Leader III works with all levels of the organization at both, corporate and subsidiary levels implementing Continuous Improvement initiative cores of process engineering, standardization, operational effectiveness, behavior and change management. Provides data collection and analysis to support CI initiatives. Identifies critical issues and facilitates the design and implementation of organization-wide continuous improvement solutions. Functions as a teacher, advisor, project manager, and facilitator

Position Responsibilities

  • Engage and support the planned review of process improvements and organizational activities to foster a culture of sustainable Continuous Improvement
  • Establish preferred methods & best practices for job descriptions within various business units
  • Conduct engineering studies and observations to identify wastes and redundancy for reduction
  • Identify improvement opportunities and drive necessary change using Continuous Improvement methodology, including Lean & Six Sigma
  • Maintain a strong portfolio of improvement projects; leader must meet project deadlines, communication and resource commitments
  • Collect, organize and distribute data to help prioritize projects, quantify returns on investment and other improvements and provide data regarding process performances
  • Propose and execute Kaizen events; use data to identify root-causes to issues and develop appropriate solutions and responses
  • Provide oversight and training related to Continuous Improvement tools and methods; role model and apply these behaviors and tools
  • Optimize flows of people, activities, materials, work methods, policies & procedures, systems, technology and supervisory structure to support improvement objectives
  • Help business units to measure and monitor: production activities, data analysis, trend identification and establishment of projects that drive improvement
  • Must be able to demonstrate Benefits Realization by effectively managing how time and resources are invested into making desirable changes to the organization
  • Support organization-wide Continuous Improvement initiatives to meet strategic goals, achieve operational effectiveness and assist in the development of technology plans
  • Collect data and develop metrics that provide for process measurement and identification of improvement opportunities
  • Ensure change management principles are deployed on all projects and initiatives
  • Assist in managing and facilitating small, medium and large groups toward desired outcomes.
  • Perform various research, administrative and other ad-hoc Continuous Improvement projects as and when required

Preferred Qualifications and Experience  

  • Proven expertise in deploying Lean and Six Sigma programs and initiatives, and directing teams to achieve desired results using those methodologies
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) proficiency
  • Project Management Experience (PMP Preferred)
  • Supply Chain Optimization, Total Quality Management/Total Productive Maintenance, Operational Excellence experience
  • ASQ Lean Manufacturing Certificate and/or Black Belt Certification
  • Experience in implementing a Continuous Improvement program within a “Green Field” environment
  • Demonstrated 3PL, Logistics and Supply Chain network optimization
