Revenue Recognition Analyst
100% remote
Revenue Recognition Analyst who can be an instrument of change on a high-impact team. This position will work with and receive guidance from senior level accountants within the organization. This position is a perfect fit for someone with a background in Revenue and/or Accounting or a Financial Analyst with experience in Accounting or Revenue Recognition, looking to marry their technical accounting, analytical, and reporting skills.
Work daily with the Project Managers to support the weekly forecast and month end journal entries. Ensure all relevant revenue recognition documentation is received timely from the Project Managers, and all professional service hours are accurately forecasted to support accurate revenue recognition for the services. Manage the projects from a revenue perspective by tracking the completion of performance obligations
Assist in the preparation of revenue recognition schedules used to define the timing and accuracy of revenue recognition in accordance with current accounting policy, the executed customer contract, and US GAAP
Assist in the preparation and review of the weekly forecasting
Assist in the Billing/Invoicing functions
Prepare monthly journal entries to recognize revenue / deferred costs within the appropriate accounting period. Ensure all relevant documentation to support revenue recognition is received and retained for audit purposes
Prepare monthly deferred revenue / costs account reconciliations, as well as the quarterly balance sheet roll forwards, and identify any inconsistencies with expectations. Propose and prepare well supported adjusting journal entries, as applicable
For new products, coordinate directly with the Senior Revenue Analyst to understand the new products and apply proper guidance
Support other departments within the organization; assist with special projects on an as-needed basis, including system integration and process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred but not required
2+ years’ experience of accounting
Demonstrable knowledge and application of multiple element and software revenue recognition guidance including ASC 606, is a plus
Ability to work in a detail-oriented environment and possess the desire to learn new and challenging skills
Organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills
